Sunday, the last day

Nothing last for ever, and this is the last day of the exchange... Ooohhh!

The families will spend the morning in different ways: at home, playing, in the pool or at the Bellver Castle, for example.

At 17:45 we meet at Palma airport for check-in and farewell and at 19:45 the German students will fly back to Bremen.

Saturday - Family day

A day with the Spanish family doing the activities they have organized.

Almost everybody will have a beach day at "Es Carbó", a beautiful and natural beach, without nothing else than sand, water and sun.

Friday - Sports and farewell party

• 08:00 - Palma Secondary School - Class with the German teachers.
• 09:00 - Sport activities at S'Arenal - water and beach sports.
• 15:00 - Return to Palma.

• 18:00 - Farewell party on the part of the Spanish families at the School.

Thursday - Mountain and beach

• 08:00 - Departure from the Secondary School: excursion by mountain villages of the Serra de Tramuntana.
• "Lafiore" factory - demonstration of blown artistic glassworking
• Valldemossa
• Deià
• Sóller
• and a walk to the "Port de Sóller" - time for lunch and beach
• 17:00 - Arrival to the Secondary School

Wednesday activities

• 08:00 - Palma Secondary School. Class with the German teachers.
• 09:00 - Art project all together, German and Spanish students.
• 11:00 - Classes with Spanish teachers.
• 15:00 - Lunch time at home.
• 16:30 - Meeting and enjoying a beach afternoon at Illetes, a beach next to Palma where we can go by bus.

Tuesday - Visiting Palma

• 8:00 - Palma Secondary School. Class with the German teachers.
• 9:00 - Guided tour to Palma: Cort - the Town Council, the old town, La Seu - Cathedral of Mallorca)
• 15:00 - Return to the School

Monday - Arrival at Palma

This morning, at 8:30, the German pupils have arrived at Palma Airport.
Spanish families received them and all together have gone to the school.
There they had a welcoming on the part of the school and a breakfast.
They have gone to some classes with the Spanish partners and at 13:00 they have gone to their new "home".

Sure they are very tired and hungry.

• 08:30 - Approximately, arrival at Palma airport and the Spanish families pick their children up there.

and thursday, last day...

• 8:00 - Secondary School. Class with the Spanish teachers.
• Town centre.  Walking tour along the river Wesser.  Sportsgarden (sport games)
• 18:00 - Barbecue and farewell party on the part of the German pupils and their families at the secondary school.

• 04:30 - Meeting at Bremen airport to take the plane to return to Palma; the Air Berlin flight departs at 06:00 AM.  Flight number AB9510.
• 08:30 - Approximately, arrival at Palma airport and the Spanish families pick their children up there.

Wednesday activities

• 8:00 - Bremen Secondary School. Class with the Spanish teachers.
• Trip and guided tour to Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany, with the teacher of History.
• Lunch and free time to walk around and do some shopping.
• 17:00 - Return to Bremen.

Tuesday activities

• 8:00 - Bremen Secondary School for a class with the Spanish teachers.
• After that we will do an arts project together with the German pupils.
• Lunch at the school,

• and a visit to the Universum (a science museum that turns science into an adventure)

Monday activities

• 8:00 - Secondary School. Class with the Spanish teachers.
• 9:00 - Welcoming on the part of the headship and breakfast.
• 11:00 - Visit to the Town hall of Bremen and to its historical centre.

• 13:00 - Lunch and free time to walk around and do some shopping.

Sunday family day

A day with the family.
They do different activities which the families have organized.

NOTICE: according to the latest news the bycicle trip is today and on Saturday the pupils did free activities. Perhaps they can tell us what they have done.

A day with the German family.

If the weather is fine, and sure it will be, there might be a bicycle trip, if it isn't they might go to an indoorswater park.

Finally, we take off...

17:30 - Meeting at Palma airport, ensure that nobody is missing, farewell of the families and check in at the AirBerlin desks.
19:45 - Passengers with flight Airberlin AB9511, destination Bremen, please proceed gate number 36 YES!!!!
22:15 - Arrival at Bremen airport. Meeting and welcoming on the part of the German families. They go to the new "home" and accommodation.

We will fly...

Yes..., Deutsche Flugsicherung (German air traffic control) says today :
German airspace is opened for IFR flights / no more restrictions from 11:00 hrs

21/04/10 - Due to the current development of the weather situation, German airspace can be opened for instrument flights (IFR flights). The decision by DFS is based on the current information of the German Meteorological Service (DWD). Airspace contamination has significantly decreased and will continue to decrease owing to the weather conditions.

IFR flights can currently be conducted at the international airports of Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover, Berlin-Tegel, Berlin-Schönefeld, Cologne/Bonn, Frankfurt, Saarbrücken, Nürnberg, Stuttgart and Munich. The same applies to the regional airport Frankfurt-Hahn. At 11:00 hrs, all other airports will also be opened for IFR traffic. This means that from 11:00 hrs, there will be no more restrictions on IFR traffic in Germany.

We want to fly...

Finally, our flight to Bremen has been canceled. German airports will remain closed until the 20th, Tuesday, at 2:00 am, at least.

We have a new reservation for 23th, Friday, but we are awaiting confirmation from Bremen.

Calm down, guys, we'll fly (if Vulcano wants it).

Airports closed

Yesterday, Bremen airport was closed all day, and today, Sunday, will be closed, at least, until 8:00 PM.
Palma airport will be closed today from 12:00 until 20:00.

Airberlin, the airline of our departure flight, says in the web:

It is not foreseeable when these restrictions will be lifted. Upon the recommendation of the DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung) and Eurocontrol Air Berlin is cancelling all flights until 2 a.m. on 19th April 2010 inclusive.

No good news, we must wait until tomorrow.
